Did you know that more children are killed each year during parental abductions than stranger abductions?
What can you do to prevent parental abductions, and how can you recognize a child that has been abducted and is attending your school?
Make sure that a student’s custody and/or restraining orders are on file with the school office. Have photo on file in the office of anyone who is not to pick up a student.
Notify the custodial parent if a child suddenly talks about taking an unexpected vacation or says they are moving out of the country with a parent or relative.
If a child is unsure about his name and identity, and may be reluctant to speak about prior school experience, is confused about role of family members, they may have been abducted by a parent.
If concerned about the possibility that a child in your class has been abducted call Find the Children at 888-477-6721.
